I don’t remember exactly when acai bowls hit the food scene, but I’ve been a huge fan ever since. Every city I visit, I always try a local bowl and then bring that inspiration home when making my own bowls. During quarantine, I had to rely mostly on homemade bowls, but thankfully they come together quickly by just keeping key ingredients on hand. Acai bowls are healthy, delicious, customizable, and always make me feel good. I eat several a week!

Healthy hints:
>> Acai—which is very high in antioxidants, omegas, and fiber—is from the acai berry grown on the acai palm tree found in South America.
>> The key to a smooth and creamy acai bowl is frozen bananas. Make it easy by keeping a batch of peeled bananas in the freezer.
>> The possibilities are endless for acai bowls. Get creative and add your favorite fruit, nut butters, and creative toppings. I always love a chocolate drizzle made with maple syrup and cacao powder!
